πŸ—“ Monthly Goal-Setting Template

A clear, simple way to align your month with what really matters.

A fresh month is a beautiful invitation: to reflect, refocus, and realign. But too often, goal-setting gets overwhelming β€” too many to-dos, not enough clarity.

At The Everyday Edit, I’ve created a simple monthly goal-setting template I return to again and again. It helps me stay grounded in what matters most, while leaving space for life’s curveballs and slow days.

Here’s how I set my goals each month β€” and how you can too.

✍️ Step 1: Reflect Before You Plan

Ask yourself:

  • What worked last month?

  • What drained me?

  • What do I want more of this month?

Take 5–10 minutes to journal or brain dump. Awareness is the starting point of meaningful change.

🧭 Step 2: Choose 3 Focus Areas

Pick just three core areas to focus on. For example:

  • Health

  • Business or Work

  • Relationships or Home

Limiting your focus helps you move deeper, not wider.

🎯 Step 3: Set SMART Goals

For each area, write 1–2 goals using this format:

  • Specific

  • Measurable

  • Achievable

  • Relevant

  • Time-bound

Examples:
βœ” Walk 3x a week before 8 AM
βœ” Launch my new offer by the 20th
βœ” Have one screen-free evening with family per week

πŸ“… Step 4: Create Mini Milestones

Break each goal down into 2–3 mini tasks you can check off weekly.
Small wins = sustained motivation.

🌿 Step 5: Choose a Word or Intention for the Month

This sets the tone, not the task.
Words I’ve used in the past: steady, simplify, connect, soften.

Write it at the top of your calendar or planner.

βœ… Step 6: Check In Weekly

Set a weekly 10-minute check-in:

  • What moved forward?

  • What felt good?

  • What needs to shift?

This keeps your goals alive β€” not forgotten after Week 1.

Final Thoughts

Monthly goals don’t need to be big or complex β€” they just need to be yours.
This template brings clarity to your focus, structure to your time, and momentum to your growth.
